Our mission is to prevent and heal sexual harm. We do this with community education, consulting, restorative justice circles and coaching.

 

You Have The Power.org is a collaboration of community members, professionals, survivors and recovering offenders who are determined to empower communities to prevent and heal sexual harm.

 

We serve victim/survivors, recovering offenders and community members. We are funded solely by your generous donations.

Gabrielle Hamen – Founder

Gabrielle Hamen is president of You Have The Power, a consulting company that specializes in change management and conflict resolution.

Gabrielle’s personal journey through twenty-six years of sexual violence set the stage for her to face a life filled with pain. Challenged to define how she thrived through such difficult circumstances, Gabrielle wrote the lessons and strategies she’s learned along the way in her first book, Thrivorship: Power Tools For Success. In her second book, Avoiding Me, Gabrielle candidly shares her triumphant life story and helps others to discover the gifts hidden behind the adversities of life.

Gabrielle is a consummate advocate for community to get involved in the prevention and healing of sexual harm. For the past ten years she has spoken at various colleges, community events and programs such as Stop It Now, Department of Corrections, Family Workforce Center and Pioneer Press. Currently Gabrielle co-facilitates the Minnesota Department of Health Spiritual Communities ActionTeam focused on creating healthy, respectful spiritual environments in Minnesota that don’t sexually exploit children.
